Sycamore Reserve is the second independent senior living community we've developed. The first, Bartlett Reserve, located in Durham, North Carolina has enjoyed great success and was awarded Senior Advisor's Best of Senior Living, by its residents and their family members, multiple years in a row.
You'll appreciate the convenience of being in Castleton on the northside of Indianapolis close to I-69, I-465, Community Hospital North, IU Health Hospital Saxony, St. Vincent's Hospital North, a variety of grocery stores, restaurants, specialty shops and shopping at the largest mall in Indiana: Castleton Square Mall. We are very excited to be an integral part of The City of Indianapolis' new Castleton Revitalization Plan.
"I am heartend to hear of the plans. The new senior living community will be exciting news for area residents."
We think there is a better way for seniors to enjoy their independent lifestyle. We're obsessively passionate about it, and it's our mission to help you live life to the fullest. Our dedicated team is always here to help.
Shawn's 16 years of senior living experience has given her a deep passion for serving the senior population. She has worked for several senior living companies, most recently with Riverwalk Commons in Noblesville. Born and raised in Indianapolis, the youngest of eight children, Shawn has a strong desire to be part of a large family. This trait is displayed as she treats all her residents and their loved ones as part of her ever-growing family.
Shawn currently resides in Carmel with her 22-year-old daughter, Kelsey, who graduates from nursing school in December 2019 and her two Dachshunds, Frank and Odie and mini Goldendoodle, Moose. Shawn is also a Proud Army Mom, with her son, Kyle, serving in the US Army in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Her daughter, Ali, works as an IT Medical Recruiter for Medasource in Chicago. In her spare time, Shawn enjoys Pilates, traveling, doing anything outdoors and spending as much time as possible with her two beautiful granddaughters, Lyla and Eve.
For the past four years, Michelle Herren has served as Director of Activities for senior living communities here in Indianapolis. Prior to that, she operated a very successful childcare/preschool in the Annapolis, Maryland area. She also served as a teacher’s aide for children with special needs. Her entire adult career she has cared for others.
Now as our Life Enrichment Director at Sycamore Reserve, she is very excited about the endless opportunities for personal and team growth. She feels we truly focus on educating and training our staff, giving our residents and their loved ones the most active and independent experience possible.
In her spare time, Michelle enjoys her family including her seven children and pets. She is an excellent artist and seamstress, which explains why the residents she serves have such a great time in her planned classes and events.
“I am eager to implement my caring, compassionate, and competent nature and join the other Sycamore team members who make the residents their absolute priority. We are invested in the happiness and quality of life of our residents, and I cannot wait to continue my part in making that happen here at Sycamore Reserve.”
Chef Jennifer began her ten-year culinary career in senior living where she developed a love of working in a senior community. She has a passion for combining wellness and nutrition with the comforts of the food people know and love and loves helping people try and explore new things.
After her start in senior living, Jennifer spent 6 years with Touchpoint as the Executive Chef of the St. Vincent Heart Center. During her time there she worked closely with the clinical team to provide a cardiac-friendly dining experience that kept up with culinary trends, and in 2018 was crowned the Food Fight Champion among the chefs across the country in her company.
When she’s not cooking, Jennifer participates in other creative activities. A graduate of the University of Indianapolis School of Music, she enjoys playing woodwinds at community theatres, as well as spending time with her dogs and cats.
